Mercedes Benz/MaliVai Washington Golf and Tennis Gala Jacksonville, Fla. – September 6, 2005 – As a part of the annual, two-day Mercedes Benz/MaliVai Washington Golf and Tennis Gala, both a live and silent auction will take place the evening of September 12th during the Gala Dinner. The dinner will be held at the Marriott at Sawgrass Resort with doors opening at 5:45 p.m. for cocktails and bidding on silent auction items. The live auction, which takes later in the program, includes a trip to Hawaii for a five night stay at the Ritz Carlton and tickets to the Mercedes Golf Championships; tickets to the 2006 US Open with hotel stay and seat in the President’s Box for the first three days of the tournament; VIP seats to the NASDAQ 100 in Biscayne, Fla.; and two seats in the Jaguars owners’, Wayne & Delores Weaver, personal box. Silent auction items include certificates to a number fitness memberships, Carnegie Hall tickets, hitting sessions with Malivai and other tennis pros, a four-night stay in Greece, and stays in European countries like Ireland, Switzerland and Spain. Also auctioned off will be autographed celebrity memorabilia from Andre’ Agassi, Marshall Faulk, Derek Jeter, Arnold Palmer and many more. This year’s auction features more than 160 items donated from local business, business owners and Malivai Washington Kids Foundation (MWKF) supporters. All proceeds benefit the Malivai Washington Kids Foundation, which was established in 1997 to develop positive life skills and encourage academic achievement in youth who otherwise might not be exposed to the sport. The Foundation has introduced tennis to more than 14,000 local children in the Jacksonville area since its inception. ### |
