Bill Cosby visits Jacksonville to do benefit show
Proceeds go toward the MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation

Jacksonville, Fla. - November 29, 2005 - Bill Cosby, one of America's most esteemed comedians and entertainers, will visit Jacksonville this spring to hold a benefit concert for the MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation (MWKF). The show takes place March 2, 2006, at the Florida Theatre and begins at 7:30 p.m. The event is partially underwritten by Citi.

Cosby is well known for his support of charities around the country and all proceeds from this one night show will support MWKF's Capital Campaign to build a Youth Tennis & Education complex in North Jacksonville's Durkeeville area. The complex is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2006.

"We are thrilled to have Mr. Cosby as a supporter of the Foundation," said MaliVai Washington, founder and president of MWKF. "I'm a big fan of his, and we appreciate him taking time out of his busy schedule to recognize our efforts to support the youth here in the Jacksonville community."

Since before the days of I Spy, Cosby has touched lives by producing Grammy Award winning comedy albums, playing Dr. Huxtable on The Cosby Show, writing children's books and remaining supportive of youth throughout the country. His generous support of education has provided many Americans with the gift of hope and learning.

Cosby has had an unparalleled career in television and has sold more albums than any other comedian, which has helped to make him one of the most influential performers of the 20th century. His blockbuster books have sold millions of copies. Cosby's success in front of and behind the camera truly place him in a class all his own. His presence here in Jacksonville is sure to have a lasting impact on the lives of many local youth that need it most.

Tickets for the show will go on sale to the public December 9, 2005 at Ticketmaster.com or call the Foundation at 904.301.3786.Tickets range from $50 to $250 with the top price tickets including premium seats and a VIP cocktail reception prior to the show. Sponsorship opportunities are available through the MWKF.

The MaliVai Washington Kids Foundation was established to introduce tennis as a tool to develop positive life skills and encourage academic achievement in youth who otherwise might not be exposed to the sport.
