Becoming a mentor is an empowering experience. The dedication, passion and perseverance you show your mentee will equip them to traverse the obstacles of their everyday lives. The Foundation’s goal is to see each student develop a strong and stable relationship with a positive role model who provides weekly academic assistance as well as social and emotional support! If you’re considering being a mentor, please note that this opportunity is a full school year commitment.
We offer flexible options to fit your busy schedule, with commitments ranging from one day a month to one day a week for one hour (either 3:30 or 4:30 PM).

Champion Mentor Program
Minimum three times a month @ 3:30-4:30; 4:30-5:30 or both hours - Adults & HS students eligible
Build a relationship with one of our elementary students by meeting with them at minimum three times a month, MondayThursday, for one hour. This program has a dual focus on academic achievement and social development. Spend sessions getting to know your student and assisting them with their homework. After a portion of academic work is completed, you and your mentee can enjoy educational games and activities that help affirm the importance of academic achievement and build positive relationship skills. Full school year commitment required.
Take Stock in Children Mentor
Twice a month @ 3:30-4:30; 4:30-5:30 or both hours - only adults eligible
This academically focused mentor program guides middle and high school mentees toward successful completion of high school, college enrollment and graduation. Students in this program receive a college and career success coach and a Florida Prepaid Scholarship. Meet with your mentee twice a month for 45 minutes. Mentors in need of flexibility use Take Stock also has the option to meet via Zoom or text on the Take Stock App. Full school year commitment required.
