Part time After-School Staff

The MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation is hiring a variety of positions for our After School Enrichment Programs serving students in Kindergarten through High School.

Program Leads
Program Leads play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where students can learn and grow each day. They guide a consistent group of students through daily transitions, support homework completion, and lead meaningful enrichment activities that spark curiosity and build confidence. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about youth development and thrive in a structured, relationship-driven setting. Positions are available across elementary, middle, and high school programs. When submitting your resume, please indicate any preferred age group or relevant experience working with a specific grade level.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30–6:00 PM

 Elementary Tutors
Elementary Tutors help build strong academic foundations by working closely with students to strengthen their understanding and confidence in the classroom. Through one-on-one and small group support, tutors provide guidance during homework time and help students develop positive learning habits that extend beyond the program.
Schedule: 2-4 days per week, 3:30–5:30 PM (additional hours available during our after-hours tutoring season)
Requirements: Certified teacher or currently pursuing certification

 Middle & High School Tutors
Middle & High School Tutors support students during a pivotal time in their academic journey by providing both structure and targeted instruction. In this hybrid role, tutors assist with supervising a focused homework environment while also delivering small-group support in ELA, Math, or Science.
Schedule: 2–4 days per week, 3:30–5:30 PM
Requirements: Certified teacher or currently pursuing certification

Qualifications

  • Comfortable working with K-12 youth and adults alike, including low-income population youth

  • Commitment to youth development and the mission of MWYF

  • Flexible and calm under pressure; Excels at operating in a fast paced environment

  • Willingness to complete required trainings during first 90 days of employment

  • Meet DCF qualifications for Level 2 Background screening & pass a Drug Test
